Britcom have donated a new park bench to villagers in Shiptonthorpe and is now in situ at the playing fields.
The bench has been supplied by Langlands of Shiptonthorpe and the new plaque reads: “Kindly Donated To The Shiptonthorpe Community By Britcom”.
Rachel Reed, Britcom’s marketing manager, said “The playing fields are used by many of the local community – young and the more mature. “The playing fields incorporate a play park for toddlers upwards; they are also used by Shiptonthorpe United AFC; and many events are held there during the year including the very popular Folk In The Field. "We are sure the bench will get plenty of use during its lifetime and it is our pleasure to provide such faciities for the local community."
Hilary Hazell from the Shiptonthorpe Parish Council said: "On behalf of Shiptonthorpe village residents the Partish Council would like to thank Britcom for their most generous gift. The bench has been sited near the children's play area so mums and dads can have a well-earned rest while watching their children enjoy themselves."
