Britcom Backs Woldgate Team’s Bid For Victory

18th April 2018

We are delighted to announce the sponsorship of the newly formed Woldgate Equestrian Team – an all female team of 5 up and coming local equestrians aged between 11 and 17 years old.

Meet Lucy & Loren aged 11, Aimee & Olivia aged 13, and Paige age 17, and their four legged partners.

Their first competition as a Team was show jumping at Northallerton Equestrian Centre earlier this year, and despite only being 3 in the team (due to injuries and illness) and believing themselves to be the underdogs, they won both the 70cm & 80cm classes.

In March, the Team then entered an arena eventing competition at Epworth Equestrian Centre, and this time took Team 1st in the 70cm class with individual 1st places in the 70cm and 80cm classes.

Both of these competitions were county qualifiers, so the girls will now be competing at two prestigious venues: Bury Farm in April and Hickstead in May.  Attending these competitions comes at a cost: travel, stabling, entry fees and team attire for horse and rider are not cheap.

The girls are busy fundraising themselves to help pay for their trips to Bury Farm and Hickstead including a grand raffle, crowdfunding, sweet and cake stalls at school and bag packing at local supermarkets.

Britcom was approached by the Team to sponsor the Team saddle cloths, as Aimee Pearcy’s father, Lee, has worked at Britcom for 10 years in the Britcom Bodyshop – where, among other vehicles we refurb and paint horseboxes!

The Team’s crowdfunder account goes live on 16th April and is simply called Woldgate Equestrian Team fundraiser for anyone who wishes to donate.

We wish the team all the very best for their two events in April and May and look forward to reporting on their experience and success.
