Autoclaves
Britcom bodyshop has recently completed the painting of an "Autoclave" vessel.
The unit is a specialised pressure and heat vessel used in the manufacture of high temperature moulded items including carbon fibre.
This particular unit is 8 metres long, 3.9 metre diameter, weighs approx 12 tonnes and is for an end user in the Aerospace industry.
The Autoclave Group approached Britcom as we are one of only a handful of companies who could manage the handling, shotblasting and painting of this type of unit.
The vessel was shotblasted inside and outside. The inside faces were then painted using an aluminium paint heat resistant to 600 degrees centigrade. The outside was coated with a heavy fill, Epoxy primer followed by a high gloss EHS 2 pack acrylic.
Autoclave were delighted with the result and orders have been place for a further two units in June.
