F E Bayram Hay & Straw Carrier
Delivering versatility and a longer life is all part of our Engineering Team's day to day remit.
We were approached by our customer Mr Andy Bayram of FE Bayram Hay & Straw, an historically loyal Scania operator whom we have manufactured truck bodies and trailers for a period of approximately 25 years, with a view to manufacture and fit a new platform body to a new drawbar chassis cab. 
The body had to be capable of carrying a full load of straw including over the cab but must also be capable of carrying and supporting a 30’ Portacabin.
To allow for the carrying of hay and straw, the body was manufactured with a canopy going over the cab with pillar supports down to the front bumper. The canopy was equipped with a hydraulic ram and pump to allow the canopy to be raised quickly giving full access to the cab and engine.
To allow for the carrying of Portacabins, the rear of the body was equipped with a heavy duty pull out crossmember equipped with PTFE rollers for ease of use. This facility gives the ability of carrying a 30’ cabin whilst fully supporting the load. 
To compliment the truck, it has been coupled to a turn table type drawbar trailer originally manufactured by ourselves in the year 2000. The trailer has recently been converted to tri-axle specification by ourselves, to allow the combination to operate at a combined gross vehicle weight of 44,000kg.
To complete the new look, the trailer was fully shotblasted, primed and gloss painted, the lamps were also replaced for the latest specification LED.
The trailer is now as good as new and is fit for another 8 years hard labour!
