Designing The Future
Britcom has been ISO accredited since 1999 and has recently added in a new auditable area - Engineering Design.
Being ISO accredited means that all the procedures we work to meet thie ISO levels; it provides a framework for running an efficient and successful Britcom on a daily basis.
Each year two audits are carried out by ISO auditors to ensure that we continue to uphold the very high standards.
In our last audit we were also audited for a new area under 'Engineering Design'. This aspect of ISO is what all the manufacturers and many of our suppliers operate, and therefore we felt it important to add it to our portfolio to enable us to work more closely with them.
The benefits:
- It gives us greater control over the designs; in effect we can verify the design is going to work prior to going into production.
- It enables us to provide a 3D animated operational visual concept for the customer and allows us to ensure we are meeting all the customers' requirements - both on a functional and aesthetic basis.
- It also helps speed up production as any potential issues are ironed out prior to production
- It enables us to continually evaluate and innovate our designs, using different materials taking into consideration the all important issue of reducing weight and costs!
To enable us to operate at this level we have invested in all the latest 3D software which allows us to achieve this. Everything we do is based on leading technology.
We are of course delighted to confirm that due to all the hard work put in by the Team, we achieved Design status earlier this year. This has already opened up new opportunities for both ourselves and you our customers, and we look forward to reporting on some of these new developments in the very near future.
